Crown Perth names Brian Pereira as new chief executive and former WA treasurer Ben Wyatt as chair

Crown Perth has unveiled its new chief executive and concurrently named former WA treasurer Ben Wyatt to succeed John Van Der Wielen as chair.
Announcing the top-end leadership changes on Monday, Crown Perth revealed it had given Brian Pereira the permanent chief executive role, pending regulatory approvals.
Mr Pereira — who joined Crown in 2023 as chief financial officer — has been the interim CEO in Perth since David Tsai was promoted to lead the national business at Crown Resorts late last year.
Mr Pereira was CFO at Perth Airport before joining Crown.
He brings more than 30 years of financial and corporate strategic leadership experience in the tourism, entertainment, aviation and banking sectors in Australia and the UK.
Crown Resorts chair John Borghetti said both of the appointees were highly regarded and were ideally positioned to lead Crown Perth.
He also thanked Mr Van Der Wielen for his leadership and dedication to Crown over the past three years.

Mr Tsai said he was confident Mr Wyatt and Mr Pereira — with their deep local knowledge of the WA tourism sector and economy — were the right people to lead the Perth team.
Mr Pereira said: “I couldn’t be prouder to have been appointed to lead the great team of more than 5000 people here at Perth’s ultimate entertainment destination.”
“It is an enormous privilege to be appointed to this role, and I look forward to being a part of a growing business that continues to create memorable guest experiences, supports the local economy and gives back to our community.”
Mr Van Der Wielen will remain on the board over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition.
“Appointing a new CEO and chair-elect brings to fruition much of the significant work undertaken in the last three years and I am very confident the business will prosper with so many new and exciting opportunities,” he said.
