Lifestyle arm of Andrew and Nicola Forest’s Tattarang taps Joost Heymeijer to run growing portfolio

Andrew and Nicola Forrest’s Tattarang has recruited an international hotelier to run its hospitality and lifestyle arm Z1Z.

Dutch-born Joost Heymeijer will oversee an expanding operation that already includes Cape Lodge in Yallingup, Lizard Island in northern Queensland and Byron Bay’s Gaia Retreat and Spa.

Tattarang chief executive Andrew Hagger said Mr Heymeijer would use his experience to create “to create authentic and truly Australian experiences in the hospitality and lifestyle sectors”.

“We believe Joost is the perfect person to lead the company into a new exciting phase of growth,” Mr Hagger said.

Mr Heymeijer has previously worked for Emirates Airline, Emirate Hotels and Resorts in Sydney and ran the award-winning Wolgan Valley resort and spa in the Blue Mountains.

He has recently been a senior consultant for a Netherlands-based hospitality and coaching consultancy in conjunction with other roles focused on sustainable luxury tourism in Europe.

Mr Heymeijer said he was looking forward to taking the reins at Z1Z.
