Claremont is getting into gear this October with a line-up of free community activities to mark Bike Month.

The Town of Claremont’s program is designed to get all ages pedalling, from a learn-to-ride workshop for little ones to a guided cycle around Claremont Park. Families can also join a bike-themed Crafternooners class or take part in a story-scoot session.

For seniors and people with disabilities, Cycling Without Age Australia will be offering free electric trishaw rides around Lake Claremont.

Mayor Jock Barker said Bike Month was a chance for the community to explore the suburb on two wheels.

“The town’s upcoming Bike Month activities are designed to be enjoyable, inclusive and accessible for a range of audiences,” he said.

“No matter your age or skill level on a bike, the town encourages everyone to hop on their bike and get involved celebrating Bike Month.”

Residents can also share their cycling adventures on social media for a chance to win a $250 voucher to R&D Cycles in Claremont by tagging @town_of_claremont on Facebook or Instagram.

A full program of events can be found on the Town of Claremont’s website here.
