Two parks are better than one in the eyes of WA Day Festival organisers, who have confirmed this year’s weekend will spread even further across Perth.

Perth families can get ready for a weekend of free carnival rides, live music and fireworks as the WA Day Festival returns bigger than ever this November.

The two-day celebration will take over Burswood Park on Saturday, November 21 and Sunday, November 22, with organisers expanding into two parks to make room for an even bigger program of family fun.

More than 100,000 people flocked to last year’s festival, with this year’s event set to spread across Charles Paterson Park and Kagoshima Park, offering more space for activities.

From free carnival rides and circus performances to sporting challenges and live entertainment, there will be plenty to keep festivalgoers busy — without spending a cent on entry.

Celebrate WA chairman Scott Jones said the festival is about bringing the community together to celebrate the people and places that make our State special.

“WA Day Festival is a chance for all of us to get together and celebrate what we love about WA,” he said.

“We’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone to our expanded site at Burswood Park.

“We’ve got two beautiful parks to explore, with rides, live music, sport and plenty for the kids.”

Families can head to the BHP Family Zone for free carnival rides, while the Big Top Circus Tent will deliver a line-up of spectacular performances and Innovation Alley, presented by Hancock Iron Ore, will offer hands-on activities for all ages.

Sporting fans can put their skills to the test at the Seven Sports Zone, with exciting challenges and the chance to meet some of their sporting heroes.

There will also be plenty to keep hungry festivalgoers fuelled, with more than 60 food trucks serving up a range of eats.

Music will be another major drawcard, with Western Australian performers taking to multiple stages across the weekend.

The Discovery Stage will shine a spotlight on emerging local artists, while the Lotterywest Stage will host the most anticipated entertainment.

The full music line-up is set to be revealed on October 31.

As the sun goes down fireworks will light up the sky on both Saturday and Sunday nights.

“Bring your family and friends and make a day of it,” Mr Jones said.

“We’d love to see everyone there, enjoying our local talent and celebrating the people and communities that make WA such a special place to call home.”

The WA Day Festival will run from 10am to 9.30pm on Saturday and from 10am to 8.30pm on Sunday at Burswood Park.
