English indie pop trio London Grammar have unveiled dates for an Australian tour next year, kicking off in Perth.

The visit, which will follow the release of third album Californian Soil next week, is scheduled to begin at Belvoir Amphitheatre on February 19.

This week singer Hannah Reid told Seven West Media that she was confident that the Ivor Novello award-winning band, which she formed with Dan Rothman and Dominic “Dot” Major in Nottingham 12 years ago, would be able to resume touring later this year.

London Grammar have not performed to live audiences since they played at the UK’s Bestival in August 2018.

“We’ve got some dates in the UK for the end of the year,” the 31-year-old said on Tuesday. “I’ve got quite high hopes that they’ll happen because vaccinations have gone so well here.

“I think there’s a good chance they (the shows) can happen.”

On their previous Australian tour four years ago, London Grammar played two nights at Fremantle Arts Centre as well as two concerts at the Sydney Opera House.

Out on April 16, Californian Soil follows the double platinum-selling 2013 debut album If You Wait and 2017 follow-up Truth is a Beautiful Thing.

The album has already produced four singles, including Baby It’s You, Lose Your Head, and the title track and latest release How Does It Feel.

Their single Strong won the Ivor Novello award for best song musically and lyrically in 2014.

Reid, who two years ago featured on Flume’s hit Let You Know, said the new album was finished more than a year ago but was held back from release due to the pandemic.

After playing Perth, London Grammar have shows planned in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney before finishing the capital city tour in Adelaide on March 1.

Tickets go on sale April 16, with pre-sales starting on Tuesday.
