Schoolboy’s answer to Anzac Day interview has Project panel in stitches

A schoolboy has left a panel of TV show hosts in hysterics after answering a question about the Anzac Day parade with brutal honesty.

Thousands of Australians took part in marches through the nation's capital cities on Thursday in honour of the service men and women who have served their nation.

A Brisbane schoolboy was wearing the WWI military medals of his great-grandfather when a reporter approached him to ask why he was taking part in the city’s march.

At first, the boy didn’t seem very enthusiastic and simply answered: “to march”.

However when he was asked to elaborate, he confessed it was “because my parents are making me do it”.

The reporter tried to help the boy out, and asked: “You’re not doing it to remember your great-grandfather and what he did in the war?‘

But the boy once again delivered the truth: “No”.

The panel of Project hosts erupted into laughter at the kids answer, with one member joking “I bet he’ll get schooled tonight at the dinner table”.

Australians across the country took part in honouring current and former military members in a variety of ways.

Some queued for up to an hour to get into pubs hosting games of two-up, a game of chance that is only legal one day of the year.

The roar of cheers could be heard emanating from the courtyards and closed laneways as punters faced off in what is essentially a game of heads or tails.

People were packed in like sardines at some venues with aerial photographs showing queues wrapping around the block as people waited to get into overstuffed venues.

Others attended sporting matches with 93,000 flocking to the MCG to witness a disappointing draw between Collingwood and Essendon.

Roosters fans would be riding high on Friday after taking home a definitive 60-18 win against the Dragons.

While the Warriors faced off against the Titans in Auckland, with the away team securing a 27-24 win.
