Punters looking to satisfy their hankering for finger licking chicken and tasty beer will have to wait even longer.

Pushed back in April by a snap lockdown, Perth’s inaugural Chicken and Beer Festival has been postponed again due to the heavy rain forecast for this weekend.

Festival organisers announced the news on social media and said they were “working around the clock” to lock in a new date and relocate from Market Square in Subiaco to a venue that won’t be affected by the weather.

“Can lightning strike twice? It seems so in our case,” the organisers wrote on Instagram.

“Due to the heavy rain forecasted for Saturday and Sunday, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the Chicken and Beer Festival once again.

“We believe this is the right decision and in the best interest of all our patrons, vendors and partners. As we are now clearly in the rain season, we will also be relocating the event to a suitable new venue/location with a large indoor space.

“We are working around the clock with various stakeholders to finalise the details of the new venue/location and the rescheduled date for the Chicken and Beer Festival.”
