Kids exposed to ‘unacceptable risks’ as Sydney childcare centre suspended over significant safety concerns

Parents have been urged to pick up their kids from a childcare centre in Sydney’s lower north shore immediately after the centre was suspended over significant safety concerns.
Jenny’s Kindergarten & Early Learning Centre at Lane Cove North was suspended for six months by the NSW Department of Education’s regulatory body on Friday after an investigation into “serious breaches”.

Parents and carers have been asked to pick their children up immediately.
It comes just weeks after the company’s Gregory Hills childcare centre was suspended after an investigation into several alleged “serious incidents”, The Daily Telegraph reported.

“The regulatory authority has immediately suspended service operations at Jenny’s Kindergarten and Early Learning Centre in Lane Cove North due to significant concerns related to children’s safety,” the spokesperson said on Friday.
“Children have been exposed to unacceptable risks, and we have taken immediate action to address those risks.
“As our investigation is ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.
“We acknowledge the challenge this presents for families; however, there is no greater priority than the safety of children.”
An email sent out to parents said the regulatory body had been investigating “serious breaches” at the Lane Cove centre.

“This correspondence is to inform you that, as a result of the investigation, which is ongoing, the Regulatory Authority has immediately suspended the service approval for Jenny’s Kindergarten & Early Learning Centre – Lane Cove North for a period of 6 months, effective 24 October 2025,” the email, seen by NewsWire, stated.
The regulator acknowledged parents may find it difficult to arrange alternative care but said it considered the decision appropriate based on evidence available.
NewsWire has contacted Jenny’s Kindergarten & Early Learning Centre for comment.
