2022 Chevrolet Corvette Australian pricing revealed, starting from $144,990

GMSV has revealed pricing for the upcoming Corvette, which will be available in two trim levels as a coupe or convertible when it arrives late this year.

Full specification will be revealed in the coming weeks, however the eighth-generation sports car will be offered in 2LT and 3LT variants, each available with either body style.

The 2LT Coupe starts at $144,990 plus on roads and the 3LT Coupe at $160,500, with the convertible adding $15,000 to the price.

At launch there will also be an as yet unpriced Carbon Edition based on the 3LT Coupe, which GMSV says will add “hand-picked interior trims, premium wheels and brake calliper package, an exclusive build plate and owners pack”.

Among the standard gear will be a a colour head-up display and a Bose Performance Series 14-speaker audio system.

All models will have a mid-mounted 6.2-litre V8 offering 370kW and 640Nm.

Happily, all Australian versions will receive the Z51 Performance Package and Front Lift, which includes a performance dual mode exhaust, performance suspension, bigger Brembo brakes, electronic-limited slip differential, a front splitter, rear fascia-mounted spoiler, extra cooling provisions and specific rear axle ratio.

The suspension features GM’s Magnetic Selective Ride Control, which reads the road every millisecond and adjusts the suspension accordingly to provides real-time damping.

GMSV director Joanne Stogiannis said it made sense to include the extras as standard.

“Overwhelming feedback is that our intended customers are performance enthusiasts, they want to have the ability to experience the C8 Corvette to its fullest potential,” she said.

Shipment from GM’s Bowling Green factory in Kentucky will arrive in Australia in the fourth quarter of this year.
