MG’s 10-year warranty and MG4 price drop

MG Motor Australia announced on Thursday that it was introducing a 10-year, 250,000km warranty across its whole range, from the MG3s to the MG4s to its hybrids and EVs, from August 1, 2024. And that comes with lower prices for every car in the MG4 range. For example, the least expensive, the MG4 Excite 51, was $39,990 MSRP in July, but has been repriced at $37,990 from August. (MSRP is the manufacturer’s suggested retail price.) At the top of the range of MG4s, the Essence 77 is reduced from $52,990 to $50,990 and the XPower AWD from $59,990 to $55,990. And the company also announced on Thursday that the ZS EV Excite will be priced from $34,990, drive away, for a limited time. That makes it Australia’s most affordable EV. On the big step to a 10-year warranty, MG Motor’s chief commercial officer, Giles Belcher, tells West Wheels: “If you’re looking for value and peace of mind from a new car purchase, the length and quality of the factory warranty should be as important as the horsepower. We think that our new 10-year warranty for EV, PHEV, Hybrid and petrol range is the best and strongest in market. “We do think a longer warranty is more attractive, and it also reiterates trust in our cars, particularly our EV range which now starts at $34,990 drive away, thanks to the latest campaign we’re running on our ZS EV Excite as well as the MSRP reduction on our entire MG4 range.”
