Police launch murder probe after body of man, 27, found in bushland north of Perth
Police have launched a murder probe after the body of a man was found on a gravel track in bushland north of Perth.
Emergency services were called to an area near Grampians Loop in Yanchep, about 53km north of Perth, when the man’s body was found unresponsive about 6.40pm on Sunday.
Police and St John WA attended and declared the 27-year-old dead at the scene.
It was reported the man had an injury to his head and homicide squad detectives are investigating
“Inquiries remain ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death,” a WA Police spokesman said.
Residents told 9News they heard voices from about 6pm and there was a heavy police presence in the area.
“It’s just unsettling because it’s not usual for this area,” a woman said.
Police urged anyone with information about the incident or had CCTV or dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers.
