SummerSalt

If you are going to be in the beautiful surrounds of Denmark on the long weekend, grab tickets to the SummerSalt festival at Castelli Estate. After last year’s sell-out show, the picturesque property will host two concerts, featuring Dulcie, Kate Miller-Heidke, Missy Higgins and Xavier Rudd, as well as a full bar and food options (although those in the BYO area are welcome to bring a picnic). It’s on March 2 and 3, tickets available from Ticketmaster.

Jazz lovers can go along to help the Ellington mark the 15th anniversary of its doors opening, in a three-day festival. On Sunday March 3, the birthday party will be hosted by three of its most talented performers, Ali Bodycoat, Libby Hammer and Simone Craddock, and followed by an afterparty with Mo Hippa. Mountain & Moon

Big congratulations are in order for WA jewellery label Mountain & Moon, after Jennifer Lopez wore not one, not two, but three pairs of their earrings in her new movie. The superstar singer-actor donned the Juliet earrings in both crystal quartz and smoky quartz, plus the Leo earrings, in her film This Is Me . . . Now.

Douzaine Oysters

This breezy little pop-up in Freo’s leafy Cantonment Street is slinging fresh Albany rock oysters over summer, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons and evenings. The combination of freshly shucked oysters and Hunter Bread with whipped butter has been very popular, so don’t miss it. It’s BYO, or you can pick from their selection of sips including bottles from local favourites Chouette Wine.

Under The Light

Fremantle band San Cisco has a new studio album on March 1, after what they say “feels like it’s been forever”. It’s the fifth from the popular three-piece and includes a feature from Nick Allbrook of Pond fame on the song Summer Days. It’s described as a new era of maturity, vulnerability and experimentation for the trio known for their sun-drenched west-coast pop. If you pre-order the CD or vinyl, you might also get one of 100 signed Polaroids.
