Those happy to forgo their ‘democracy sausage’ and vote before March 13 can do so now, with Albany’s only early voting centre officially open.

Twelve hopefuls are vying for the seat of Albany after the retirement of veteran Labor MP Peter Watson, who has held the seat since 2001.

Pre-poll booths were opened yesterday for registered voters across WA, with Albany’s early voting centre at 1/82 Lockyer Avenue, near Dog Rock Boulevarde.

The centre will open today and tomorrow from 8am to 6pm before closing for the public holiday on Monday. It will open again from March 2-6 and 8-12 from 8am to 6pm.

Katanning Library, Narrogin Library and Wagin Town Hall will be open for early voting until March 12.
