Middleton Beach Dog Beach tragedy: Man pulled unconscious from water at Albany beach dies in hospital

A man in his 40s has tragically died after he was pulled unconscious from the water at Middleton Beach on Sunday morning. A passer-by spotted the man in the water, pulling him to safety on Middleton Beach Dog Beach before performing emergency first aid. St John were called to the scene after the incident was reported to triple-0 at 10.34am. Police were notified by St John of the incident at 10.40am. Paramedics performed CPR on the man before he was taken to Albany Health Campus where he could not be revived. Police also attended the scene and cordoned off access to the beach. Police say the man’s death is not being treated as suspicious, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
