Davestock returned on November 25 in a resounding success that has seen more than $15,000 raised for the Albany Community Hospice in honour of Dave Morrison who died in 2020.

The money raised from the concert is still being counted, with the figure of $15,000 already surpassing the $12,000 raised during last year’s charity event.

Now in its third year, the fundraising concert featured seven bands and six artists, along with food vendors.

Wade Morrison, leader singer of Tre Amici and Mr Morrison’s son, said he spent a fair bit of time at the hospice with his father during the final days of his life.

“Not only was he an absolute ripper of a man — he was a father, a friend and an inspiration to those who had the privilege of knowing him,” he said.

“They’ve (the hospice) got a thankless task of helping people in the last days of their life, and I’ve just felt that I really wanted to give something back because I was really, really impressed with everything that they did.

“I don’t know how anybody can do a job like that, because it takes a very special individual to do what they do.”
