Next year’s free community calendar distributed to all City of Albany residents will this year feature 13 of the Great Southern’s most photogenic pets.
The 2027 calendar, themed Pets of Albany, will showcase one beloved companion for each of the 12 months and one for the front cover.
Each pampered pooch or cute cat will be professionally captured by a local photographer.
Last week the city released an expression of interest for photographers who might be keen to be involved in the project.
“The 2027 theme, Pets of Albany, aims to celebrate the much-loved animals that are part of everyday life across our community while showcasing the talent of local photographers,” a city spokesperson said.
“The calendar is themed each year, offering a new visual celebration of the people, places, stories and experiences that make Albany unique.
“The city recognises the important role pets play in the lives of many residents, with the 2027 community calendar theme, Pets of Albany, providing an opportunity for the community to showcase their beloved companions in a publication delivered to households across the city.

“This is the first time pets have been celebrated as the community calendar theme, providing a light-hearted way to showcase the animals that are part of everyday life in Albany while creating a calendar that reflects the character and stories of the community.
“The community calendar is a long-standing initiative from the City of Albany that delivers a free calendar to letterboxes each year and is available at city facilities and rural locations across the municipality.”
The EOI for photographers is open until August 31 at 4pm.
