Police charge 35-year-old man for alleged burglary of Great Southern Seafoods and ATC Work Smart

Albany police have caught one of two people who allegedly burgled Great Southern Seafoods and ATC Work Smart on May 9.

A 35-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday and charged with two counts of aggravated burglary and commit, one count of aggravated burglary with intent and two counts of stealing.

The man was one of two people that allegedly smashed the glass doors and windows to gain entry into the two Centennial Park businesses, before returning hours later to Great Southern Seafoods.

He has been released on bail and will appear before Albany Magistrates Court on June 5.

Investigations continue in identifying the second alleged offender.

Albany police officer-in-charge Sen. Sgt Carlos Correia praised the work of the investigating officers and members of the community who reached out to offer assistance.

“It’s another great team investigation here by our people and it just shows we are determined to not let people harm the community,” he said.

“We will follow up on every lead to try to get the responsible person charged.”
