Brisbane 2032 organisers have accidentally spoiled their own big reveal, leaking the Games’ new Olympic and Paralympic emblem days before its grand unveiling.
Pieces of the highly anticipated design have been gradually revealed across Queensland over the past week, with organisers carefully building towards the moment the complete emblem would finally come together on Monday.
There was just one problem.
The Brisbane 2032 official YouTube channel appears to have accidentally beaten them to it.
The full cockatoo-inspired emblem appeared in a preview image for an “Emblem Explainer” video scheduled to go live on Monday morning, giving eagle-eyed viewers an early look at the design.

And it wasn’t just the image that slipped through.
A description accompanying the video reportedly explained exactly what inspired the new emblem.
“The Brisbane 2032 emblems are inspired by the spirited cockatoo — a symbol of Australia’s unique wildlife and playful heart! The cockatoo’s crest is a living torch, reminiscent of the iconic Olympic and Paralympic flame,” the description reportedly read.
“Shaped like Queensland, with its eye on Brisbane, the emblem is a universal symbol to unite Brisbane, Australia and the world in 2032.”
The accidental sneak peek did not stay online for long.
The image was subsequently removed from YouTube and was reportedly no longer visible after 7.12pm.
But by then, the surprise was out.
The slip-up comes after organisers spent the past week taking pieces of the emblem around Queensland as part of a carefully staged unveiling tour.
Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton and the Sunshine Coast have already hosted stops, with Brisbane next on the itinerary this weekend.

The tour had been designed to culminate in the complete emblem being revealed on Monday, when a community unveiling is also scheduled to take place in Brisbane.
That event is still set to go ahead.
Only now, some fans already know exactly what they are waiting to see.
