Magnaburma takes home the win at Broome’s Race Day Two

Under a clear sky, punters in their finest fashion descended on the Broome Turf Club for an afternoon of high-octane action at Race Day Two on Saturday June 7.
All eyes were on the much-anticipated Race 6 — the $20,000 GKM Handicap — which saw Magnaburma win in a thriller.
The five-year-old gelding (trained by Kayla Farrell and ridden by Mollie Clark) flew home in a time of 1 minute 24.48 seconds.
Not even a two-length gap was enough to separate second and third, with Choixway (Anthony Barton, Simone Altieri) finishing a strong second 2.4 lengths behind the winner.
This four-year-old gelding, who was heavily backed by punters, looked dangerous throughout the race but couldn’t quite catch the Magnaburma.
Rounding off the podium in third place was Guard The Safe (Peter Bamford, Kristy Bennett) — another solid performer in the six-year-old gelding’s career.
Guard The Safe, who looked to be in contention for a late surge, finished three lengths off the lead, ensuring the race was full of excitement from start to finish.
