Two young men have been charged after an alleged violent burglary at a roadhouse in Roebuck in the early hours of Monday morning.

The incident occurred about 1.30am when the two men allegedly forced their way into an office at a roadhouse located on Broome Road, according to local police.

Police allege a staff member confronted the intruders in an attempt to stop them, but was met with violence.

A physical altercation reportedly took place, during which the men are said to have pushed the staff member and demanded money.

When a second employee arrived at the scene, the pair fled the premises in a vehicle.

Broome detectives later located and arrested the two suspects. A 22-year-old man from Bilingurr and a 19-year-old man from Djugun have since been charged with aggravated burglary with intent on a place, and attempted aggravated robbery.

Both men are scheduled to appear in the Broome Magistrates Court next month.
