A woman has died in hospital overnight in the Kimberley town of Derby after her vehicle collided with a pole.

Officers from the Major Crash Investigation Section are investigating the incident which occurred just before midnight on Thursday, June 3.

At about 11.30pm, a silver Hyundai Trajet was driving south on Derby Highway near Wodehouse Street when it collided with a light pole.

The sole occupat of the vehicle, a 25-year-old woman, was taken to Derby Hospital but later died from her injuries.

Major Crash investigators are conducting an examination of the scene and are appealing for witnesses to report information.
