Creativity of local students is being brought out of the classroom and put on display at Des Ugle Park.

The display space was unveiled on Friday and is showcasing artwork by students at Maidens Park Primary School.

A new accessible toilet block and connecting footpaths were also funded as part of the Withers Renewal initiative.

Withers Progress Association chair Mary Dunlop said it had been a long time coming.

Bunbury MLA Don Punch said he was impressed by how the students captured the theme of the park in their artwork.

“It’s about creating a sense of community and that’s so important for a suburb like Withers,” Mr Punch said.

South West Development Commission chief executive Mellisa Teede said the upgrades made the park an even better place for families to spend their time in.
