Coronavirus crisis: Premier Mark McGowan to give latest WA COVID-19 update

Premier Mark McGowan today said there have been no new COVID-19 cases overnight.

He said businesses could resume from tomorrow but they should follow safety plans to support businesses.

As of 8.30am there have been 8800 COVID-19 downloads of the safety plan.

People are also encouraged to go back to work.

Health Minister Roger Cook said another historical case from seven weeks ago had been discovered.

The woman in 30s is from the metropolitan area.

The woman is a close contact of a COVID-positive person and took a test in March after developing symptoms.

The woman was given a PCR test which came back non-conclusive, but she has since confirmed positive through Path West.

The woman was self-quarantining at home and had not infected others.

She is no longer infectious.

The woman’s case brings the State total to 557.

There are five active cases in regional WA and one in hospital.

A total of 66,000 people have ben tested in WA.

Mr Cook said testing had been widespread and was confident there was no community transmission.
