More than 48 million vaccine doses have been administered in the national COVID-19 rollout.

* There have been 48,055,260 vaccine doses administered in the national COVID-19 rollout up to Sunday, including 121,177 in the previous 24 hours.

* Of that total, 29,420,577 have been administered by commonwealth facilities, an increase of 57,185 in the previous 24 hours.

* State and territory facilities have administered 18,634,683 vaccines, an increase of 63,992 in the previous 24 hours.

* More than 95 per cent of people aged 16 and over have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 93 per cent are double vaccinated.

* A total of 6,546,383 adults have received more than two doses - including a booster or top-up shot - an increase of 86,995 in the previous 24 hours.

AUSTRALIAN CORONAVIRUS NUMBERS:

* 40,683 new cases: 15,091 in NSW, 11,695 in Victoria, 10,212 in Queensland, 2009 in South Australia, 619 in Tasmania, 756 in the ACT, 286 in the Northern Territory, 15 in Western Australia.

* The national death toll is 3161 (+58): Victoria 1821 (+17), NSW 1112 (+24), Queensland 118 (+13), South Australia 69 (+2), Tasmania 15, Northern Territory 2, and the ACT 24 (+2).

(Two Queensland residents who died in NSW have been included in the official tolls of both states.)

GLOBAL CORONAVIRUS NUMBERS:

* Cases: at least 351,047,786

* Deaths: at least 5,595,967

* Vaccine doses administered: 9,795,685,140
