Tobias Marcus Nuttall: Bassendean domestic violence murder accused co-hosts conspiracy theory podcast

A conspiracy theory podcast co-host accused of murdering his partner in an alleged act of domestic violence has been remanded in custody over her stabbing death. Tobias Marcus Nuttall faced Midland Magistrates Court on Friday charged with killing the 30-year-old woman at the Reid Street property in Bassendean on Wednesday afternoon. During his brief appearance, Mr Nuttall, of Brigadoon, wore a blue full body jumpsuit and only spoke to confirm his name. The 32-year-old did not apply for bail. Magistrate Gregory Benn moved the case to Stirling Gardens Magistrate Court to be heard on September 17, where Mr Nuttall will appear via video-link. Following his court appearance, two people believed to family members of Mr Nuttall left the court. The pair did not respond to questions, except for when they were asked if they would like to say anything to the victim’s family. “Words wouldn’t even begin to do justice,” the man said. Later on Friday, homicide squad officer-in-charge Jessica Securo said she could not comment on the details of the allegations but said the force took “all allegations of family and domestic violence seriously”. ”This is no different to investigations for other family violence offending,” she said. “It is up to all of us to try and stamp out family violence offending, the police can we can do so much however we often rely on the community to report these matters to us as well.” Mr Nuttall was a co-host of a podcast called WakingWorld, which, according to its online description, delves “deep into the captivating realms of the occult, magick, spirituality, and everything clandestine”. “As two inquisitive minds on a quest for truth, they pull back the curtains of the mundane to reveal a world bubbling with mysteries, hidden agendas, and esoteric knowledge,” it read. On Friday, co-host Dale, who doesn’t use his surname publicly, released an episode on Friday, titled “A Tragic Announcement”. In the episode Dale said his co-host had been involved in a “very serious” alleged offence. “It’s been a really hectic 24 hours actually I don’t really know how to put this but just I guess the fallout is that the WakingWorld podcast is it’s not going to move forward any longer with Toby,” he said. “It’s nothing to do with whether we’ve fallen out, it’s much worse than that. “Toby has been charged or is being charged today with a very, very serious offence over in Perth, something that happened on Wednesday.” According to Dale, the incident involved Mr Nuttall’s partner who he was recently engaged to and had appeared on a podcast in July. On another episode on August 12, Mr Nuttall revealed he had recently been thrown out of a teaching degree at Curtin University, saying it was because of the podcast. According to Dale, Mr Nuttall also got into a workplace accident where he was “almost completely run-over”, breaking his back. The host claimed on the podcast that Mr Nuttall had told him he was flying back to Perth from Sydney on Wednesday after being on the east coast for an appointment. Police allege he murdered the woman that day. She was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital for emergency surgery but could not be saved.
