A man has been charged with several drug and firearm offences following a dangerous police pursuit through Willagee on Sunday.

About 12.05am, WA Police officers attempted to stop a white Toyota Hilux utility travelling north on Drury Street.

Police allege that as officers exited their vehicle, the driver — a 30-year-old Atwell man — accelerated away and the pursuit ensued.

It will further be alleged that the driver travelled at speed and on the incorrect side of the road to get away from the officers, a WA Police spokeswoman said.

Two hours later, at 2am, police found the ute at a home on Drury Street, where a search of the vehicle uncovered firearm ammunition and drug paraphernalia.

Regarding the firearm offences, he was charged with one count of carried or possessed an edged weapon, one count of unlawfully possessed a firearm or major firearm part and one count of unlawfully possessed a firearm or major firearm part to which a prohibited alteration had been made.

He was also charged with two counts of possessed or acquired ammunition while not being authorised by a licence or permit, one count of possessed any drug paraphernalia in or on which there was a prohibited drug or plant.
