Lake Monger: Male juvenile taken into custody following attempted sexual assault

A juvenile male has been arrested following what is believed to be an attempted sexual assault in Perth’s north.

Police say the incident happened about 9pm on Wednesday when a woman was allegedly assaulted by an unknown male while she was on a jog near Lake Monger in Glendalough.

The unknown male allegedly stole her mobile phone and ran from the scene, however, police are treating the incident as an attempted sexual assault.

A short time later, police say another woman had her mobile phone stolen from her while she was sitting in her parked car in the area.

A male juvenile was arrested and taken into police custody following inquiries.

No charges have been laid.

The investigation into both incidents is ongoing and the male is assisting police.
