Police investigate allegations of principal allegedly indecently assaulting student during school camp

Police are investigating horrifying allegations of a school principal indecently assaulting a student during a school camp. The West Australian understands the southern suburbs principal — who cannot be identified for legal reasons — was removed from the site after allegedly indecently touching the student during the recent trip. The Department of Education declined to comment and referred the matter to WA Police. It is unclear if the principal has been stood down. No charges have been laid and detectives are continuing their inquiries. 7NEWS has spoken to the mother of the child who says she is still in shock. Other parents said they were left frustrated and frightened because they had not been officially notified about the alleged incident.
