Police officers searched the car the 53-year-old was driving during a traffic stop on the Great Northern Highway in Fitzroy Crossing about 9.15am on Wednesday.

They found two plastic tubs loaded with 50 two-litre boxes of cask wine.

Police say the wine had a local value of about $10,000 and will allege it was intended for illegal sale in the central Kimberley area.
