A school bus driver has been killed after a horror crash near York this morning.

Police say the bus left the road and rolled about 12 kilometres south of the regional town on Gwambygine Road near Great Southern Highway, just after 7.30 this morning.

It has been reported that one child was on board the bus at the time, but was not injured.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
