Two men have had a lucky escape after a serious crash involving a truck on Indian Ocean Drive on Friday morning.

St John WA transported two people to hospital and the major road was closed after a truck carrying machinery and a car collided near Military Road in Wilbinga just before 5am.

A man in his 50s had been taken to Royal Perth Hospital and a man in his 70s had been transported to Joondalup Health Campus.

Neither of the men were seriously injured, according to St John WA.

Photos captured of the crash scene by 7NEWS show the white car had veered off the road, partially crumpled and with the front-seat airbags deployed.
