Arrowsmith fatality: Police call for public’s help after 28yo man killed, 34yo man critically injured in crash

A man died and another left with critical injuries following a two-car crash on Indian Ocean Drive in the Mid West last weekend. Major crash investigation section officers issued a public appeal on Friday over the fatality that occurred in Arrowsmith, roughly in between Dongara and Leeman, on Saturday, September 13. Police say a grey 2013 Volkswagen Jetta and grey 2012 Holden Commodore were involved in a collision about 3.40pm on Indian Ocean Drive. The 28-year-old man who was driving the Volkswagen Jetta died from his injuries at Dongara Hospital. The 34-year-old man behind the wheel of the Holden Commodore sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment. He was taken from the scene by ambulance to Dongara Hospital where he was then flown to RPH by the RAC Rescue helicopter. Emergency services rushed to the scene of the crash on Indian Ocean Drive, near the intersection of Brand Highway, including police, paramedics and several DFES volunteer crews. Those included Dongara Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service, Dongara Town Bushfire Brigade, Jurien VFRS, Leeman BFB and the Coastal Districts SES.
