Geraldton detectives appeal for witnesses after man seriously injured in assault at HMAS Sydney II Memorial

Geraldton detectives have issued an appeal for witnesses after a man was seriously injured in an assault at the HMAS Sydney II Memorial in September. The incident unfolded about 10pm on September 25, when a man in his 30s visited the Gummer Avenue landmark and was approached by a group of people. He later required treatment for significant injuries. Detectives believe others were nearby at the time and may have seen what happened. They are urging anyone with information, or with dash-cam, CCTV or mobile phone footage from the area, to come forward.
