Bendigo Bank gave back to the community last week, unveiling their annual grant recipients after more than 70 applications for projects in the Mid West flooded in.

The Geraldton Community Bank Branch held their annual Community Grants presentation evening at the Geraldton Hockey Association on Tuesday, June 14. A total of $90,000 was handed out to 51 organisations.

Branch operations manager Kelly Eastough said grant recipients included sport, not-for-profit organisations and schools throughout the Mid West.

“Grant recipients included Port Gregory Progress Association, Saint Francis Xavier Netball Club, Dongara Professional Fisherman’s Association, Walkaway Sporting Complex and Murchison Hockey Club,” she said.

Ms Eastough said Bendigo Bank was proud to be able to give back more in 2022 than previous years and since being established, the bank had given around $900,000 back to the community.

“There was a number of new applications this year, it’s our sixth year of community grants and our biggest year to date,” she said.

“It was a great night to celebrate the achievements we make, and this is one way we can give back to the people who choose to bank with us.

“We’ve given out $60,000 for the last five years. Last year, we helped about 31 organisations, and to have 51 recipients this year is just amazing.”

Bendigo Bank celebrated their 13th birthday in Geraldton on Wednesday, June 22.
