The State Government’s one-off $100 Fuel Support Payment is being snatched up by the masses, with nearly 700,000 Western Australians having already made their claim.

Starting on July 1, the $100 payment was made available to all eligible WA driver’s licence holders, including learner, provisional and extraordinary licence holders.

To date, more than $63 million has already been paid to WA drivers since the launch of the incentive scheme to help ease cost-of-living pressures.

When making a claim through the ServiceWA app, there is an option to donate the support payment to charity.

So far, $337,500 has been donated to charities.

For those who steer clear of technology, alternative claim options are available, with around 42,500 paper claims being made for the fuel support payment already.

Those claiming via paper form are being cautioned about the up to eight-week wait times to receive the payments.

Beginning on July 20, more payments will be made available on the ServiceWA app to claim the WA Student Assistance Payment. There is a $150 payment available for kindergarten and primary school students and $250 available for high school students.

WA licence holders have until December 31 this year to claim their $100 fuel payment.

“I am pleased to see nearly 700,000 Western Australians claim their fuel support payment,” Premier Roger Cook said.

Treasurer and Transport Minister Rita Saffioti added, “Whether you’re driving the kids to school, commuting to work, university or TAFE, this $100 will help ease the pressure at the pump.”
