Fish fanatics from Harvey and surrounds joined together to take part in the recent Harvey Dam Redfin Bash.

This year marked the fourth running of the two day fishing competition.

Although the weather was slightly blustery, a big number of trout and redfin were caught.

In the past, this has mainly been a kayak fishing event, but this year saw the introduction of a new category added in the form of electric powered dingies and punts.

The competition was well supported with local sponsorship from Harvey Home Timber and Hardware, Cafe on Uduc and Puma Harvey.

The winner was Ric Monteleone, followed by runner-up Ken Forrest and John Sorrell.

Next year's event is promising to be even bigger with Prestige Tackle providing major sponsorship.

There will also be a new format, with the inclusion of a shore-based section that will coincide with a licence-free day on the Sunday.
