A motorcyclist who appeared to dump his bike in the middle of Kalgoorlie’s busiest intersection and then ran from police did not make it far before he was caught.

The incident at the intersection of Hannan and Maritana streets at about 4.15pm today involved an unmarked police car, a dirt bike and some fleet-footed policemen.

After dumping the bike in the middle of the road during rush hour, the fleeing motorcyclist only made it about 50m before he was caught by pursuing police officers.
