State election candidates and their polices will be put under the microscope at the Kalgoorlie Town Hall candidates’ forum tonight.

Candidates standing for the seat of Kalgoorlie, plus a range of Upper House Mining and Pastoral Region incumbents and hopefuls, will be present in front of a live audience to face questioning from the Kalgoorlie Miner and ABC Goldfields-Esperance, which have jointly organised the forum.

Audience members will also be able to submit their questions at the start of the event, and these will be asked once questioning from the journalists has concluded.

A political storm erupted this week regarding Labor’s attempts to impose a gold royalty hike in 2017.

Liberal leader Zak Kirkup began the attack when he visited Kalgoorlie-Boulder on Sunday, and there have been revelations of connections between the Nationals and a Say No To Labor’s Gold Tax online campaign.
