This year’s Goldfields Cyclassic program on June 1 and 2 will include the second instalment of the Minara Resources Leonora Women’s Classic.

In line with the inaugural event, it will be raced from Menzies to Leonora on the second day of the two-stage Goldfields Cyclassic as a handicap event in conjunction with the men’s Leonora Golden Wheels and the Leonora Criterium on the Sunday afternoon.

Action on the first day starts in Kalgoorlie-Boulder with the Shire of Menzies Classic: Chas Egan Memorial — a handicap race over 132km.

It honours Egan, a former Eastern Goldfields Cycle Club secretary who died just days before the 1932 race.

Registrations and the assembly of bikes will be from 7am at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Brookman Street before a 9am race briefing. All entrants have to hold a current AusCycling Race All Disciplines Licence.
