WA College of Agriculture Narrogin 2025 graduates lauded at Year 12 farewell ceremony

The future faces of WA’s agricultural industry gathered at the WA College of Agriculture Narrogin to celebrate the achievements and successes of the 2025 graduates.

With more than 360 people in attendance, Narrogin Ag’s Year 12 students were lauded in front of friends, family, staff and special guests at their graduation ceremony on October 24.

During her speech, principal Clare Roser said the staff saw the graduates as more than just students.

“You are the future innovators, the dreamers, the builders and the leaders,” Ms Roser said.

“Your journey may not have always been easy, but you showed strength and perseverance, and you never gave up.

“That’s the kind of strength that can’t be taught in a textbook. It comes from inside you. And it’s something no one can ever take away.”

Standout students from the cohort were awarded across residential, sports, class, trades and farm sectors followed by the Year 12 major awards presentation. Each student received a leaver’s folder featuring their accomplishments and a gift.

George Kilpatrick and Carter English delivered the valedictorian speech, acknowledging parents, teachers and highlights of their time at the College.

“Every moment made these years something we will never forget,” they said.

“Here’s to the friendships, laughter and whatever comes next.”

Year 12 prefect Kirsten Hanemaaijer was in the spotlight for her outstanding academic results, earning the ATAR dux.

The college acknowledged highest achievers Louis Harrington in trades and Kane Mansom in class (non-ATAR). Jacob Shilling was the top student (automotive).

Multi-awardee Harrison Wilcox was highest achiever on farm, the best all-rounder and Vocational Education and Training (VET) dux.

George Kilpatrick received the Sportspersons of the Year Award alongside Zaria Francis, who was also a double-recipient, securing the Neville Munns Memorial Scholarship through the WA Shearing Industry Association Inc.

Moylan Grain Silos College community award recipient was Eric Williams, Hotham Trust Prize recipient was Aiden Rawlings, SafeFarms WA Year 12 Scholarship award recipient was Riley Thorn and the Atkinson brothers’ bursary was granted to Layla Till.

Eilidh Kershaw collected the Australian Defence Force Long Tan youth leadership and teamwork award, and Casey Jacobs the Australian Defence Force future innovators award.

The Royal Agricultural Society of WA Year 11 residential scholarship was also announced, which was accepted by Cooper Bryant-Smith.

Before the ceremony, a morning tea was held for students and guests. Guest speaker Awhina Munk, from the class of 2014, shared her story of joining the Royal Australian Navy after graduation.

Ms Munk spoke about embracing change and new challenges, and said her time at the college developed the confidence, independence, adaptability and perseverance to achieve her goals.
