A South Hedland man was taken to hospital early on Monday after sustaining life-threatening injuries from an alleged family violence incident.

The alleged incident happened around 3:20 am in a public open space in the vicinity of Paton Road and Demarchi Road.

A man in his 40s sustained life-threatening injuries before being taken to Hedland Health Campus by ambulance.

South Hedland detectives have urged anyone with information about the incident to contact crime stoppers on 1800 333 000.

No charges have yet been laid.
