ABS to come to the Pilbara for marriage survey
Hedlanders wanting to take part in the Australian Marriage Law Postal Survey will have an opportunity to ensure they have the opportunity to vote as the Australian Bureau of Statistics plans a visit the region.
The ABS will visit South Hedland this Saturday and Sunday to ensure eligible Australians can have their say in the postal survey.
The visit will take place at the South Hedland Square Shopping Centre both days from 8:30am to 4:30pm on the Saturday and 9am to 4pm on the Sunday.
ABS deputy statistician and taskforce lead Jonathan Palmer said the pick up site will be staffed with authorised ABS officers to help people unable to receive a survey form by post.
“Providing this service will help all eligible Australians have their say in the voluntary postal survey regardless of where they live,” he said.
“Completed survey forms can be posted using the Reply Paid envelope via the nearest post office or red post box, or submitted to an ABS authorised officer at a registered pick-up location,”
Eligible Australians who have no received a survey form or who need a replacement can collect a new survey form after verifying their identity.
October 20 is the final day to request replacement survey forms and the survey closes November 7.
