Alleged staff misconduct at Spinifex Spree as reports emerge of multiple overcharged transactions

Reports of alleged staff misconduct during Port Hedland’s Spinifex Spree festival have come to light with claims some event patrons have been overcharged. On Sunday, July 30, Westside Carnivals WA posted to its Facebook page that it was currently undertaking an internal company investigation after reports emerged that an employee was ‘’adding additional amounts to various Square transactions resulting in some patrons being unknowingly overcharged.” The company has lodged full refunds to patrons who had transactions processed on the affected terminal and issued an apology to customers and the Town of Port Hedland, who organised and ran the event. Westside Carnival WA owns and hires out amusement park rides and entertainment games for community festivals and corporate events.
