Ams named new chair of regional board at AGM
The Pilbara regional cricket board held its annual general meeting recently, with Chris Ams from Port Hedland Cricket Association elected as the new chairman.
The Hedland association president, David Eckhart, was elected as deputy chairman of the regional board.
Eckhart said the regional council was looking to oversee the inter-town competition scheduled for October, with dates to be confirmed.
“Port Hedland juniors have been offered participation rights during the upcoming Ashes Test match at the WACA ground on December 16 for MILO in2Cricket and MILO T20 Blast,” he said.
Eckhart said there would be no country cup finals this year but the Pilbara would still hold its Twenty20 regional competition, scheduled for Tom Price.
Cricket is likely to begin again on October 6 and 7 with a mix of short and long-term cricket.
All games will be played at Kevin Scott Oval in South Hedland.
