Blaze destroys 20,000 hectares of bushland

A bushfire warning has been issued for people travelling along Skull Springs Road.

The blaze is said to have destroyed 20,000ha of bushland and is spreading fast in a northerly direction, approximately 35 kilometres east of Nullagine in the Shire of East Pilbara.

No road closures have been put in place, however, motorists are asked to avoid the area, reduce speed, and drive carefully as there is a lot of smoke in the area.

Shire of East Pilbara firefighters are monitoring the situation.
