If you are looking for something a little different to celebrate Australia Day, these private venues are offering the following events:

Head to the Esplanade Hotel Port Hedland and escape the heat with a cheap cocktail and barbecue.

The Tiki and Toga event will be held on the venue’s grassed area, where staff will be serving $10 pina coladas. Costumes are encouraged and there will be a prize for the best dressed.

Last Chance Tavern in South Hedland is holding a free event which includes a jelly-wrestling competition in a blow-up pool filled with edible jelly.

The Pier Hotel in Port Hedland will hold a free event with a barbecue and featuring Triple J’s hottest 100 countdown.
