The Paws Walk held on Sunday, May 5, raised $2000 for organisers at the not-for-profit pet adoption group Saving Animals From Euthanasia Hedland, which was recently slugged with $19,000 of vet bills.
SAFE volunteer Adele McSevney said every cent given to SAFE went towards the animals.
“Thank you to everyone for coming, we hope that everybody enjoyed the opportunity to involve their dogs,” she said.
The money was raised through registration fees combined with profits from a sausage sizzle operated by BHP volunteers, a photo booth by Nellie Bean and dog washes provided by Hedland K9 Care. It was the first time in three years the Paws Walk had been held.
