Taylar AmoniniNorth West Telegraph

Motorists have been advised to travel with caution along the Great Northern Highway after two incidents reported overnight.

Emergency services and traffic management are on site, 60km south of Port Hedland, after a crash occurred in the early hours of this morning.

A 40km speed limit restriction has been put in place with possible closures expected during the recovery process.

Motorists are advised to take an alternative route if possible.

Further south on the highway, motorists are advised to be cautious again with smoke still over the road due to a fire occurring yesterday evening.

The smoke is covering the highway in both directions 17 kilometres south of Karijini Drive.

Visibility may be affected and Main Roads advises motorists to turn on headlights, allow extra travel time, and ensure safe braking distance.
