East Pilbara gears up for ANZAC Day commemorations

Communities from across the nation will tomorrow show their support to remember and honour the Australian and New Zealand soldiers who fought in World War I.

The North West Telegraph has put together a guide to services and commemoration events happening around Port Hedland and surrounds.

Port Hedland

A Muster will commence at 5.30am at theWar Memorial opposite the Esplanade Hotel ahead of the service which will commence at 5.40am.

RSL President Val Middleton will present an introduction at 5.47am to recall those who gave their lives for Australia and the freedom of mankind.

Newman

A march will begin at the BHP Town Office at 5.45am followed by a Dawn Commemorative Service at the shire office gardens at 6.00am.

The service will be followed by a traditional gunfire breakfast at Newman Club at 7.30am.

Marble Bar

Assembly at Marble Bar RSL Park at 5.35am followed by a dawn commemorative service at 6.45am.

A gunfire breakfast will follow at 7.00am.

Nullagine

Lynas lookout in Nullagine will host a dawn service from 5.45am followed by a breakfast.
