Eco group in line for State gong
A local environmental group has been nominated as a finalist for the upcoming WA Volunteer of the Year Awards.
Care For Hedland Environmental Association is a finalist under the community volunteer organisation category alongside Curtin Volunteers and Perth Observatory Volunteer Group.
Care for Hedland chair-woman Kelly Howlett said the association was looking forward to “flying the flag” for the North West.
She said it was an honour for the association and sponsors to be recognised at a Statewide level and a testament to all the projects and activities CFH has committed to in the past 14 years. “This is tremendous recognition for Care For Hedland Environmental Association and the work that we do in the community,” she said.
The award recipients will be announced at the National Volunteer Week Gala Awards Presentation Dinner at the Hyatt Regency Perth Hotel on Wednesday, May 10.
